About this talk

85% of North Yorkshire is classed as sparse or super sparse. Yet, that is not stopping the county - led by North Yorkshire County Council – to have an ambition of being a data driven SMART County.

SMART North Yorkshire is funded via a Digital Infrastructure Grant provided by York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership Funding. It explores how sensor based technology delivered via a LoRa network can give a collective view of an area by enabling Mobile Communications, AI Camera technology, IoT Platforms, open data and local intelligence to provide value and opportunity. The combination of technologies is giving the Council the chance to drive forward the development of – what is thought to be – the first SMART rural town whilst supporting District and Borough colleagues to deliver cost savings and efficiencies as well as reducing the environmental impact to residents, businesses and visitors via a series of use cases.

This webinar will provide you with a first-hand understanding of how this rural county is using IoT technology to aid a very rural setting ensuring the innovation supports future ambitions – for the benefit of North Yorkshire and other rural counties - whilst giving you the chance to explore live data from across the county.
