About this Speaker

Raj has over 30 years of experience working in the public and private sectors. He has valuable knowledge and understanding of the many opportunities and challenges faced by the public sector which he has gained through diverse roles, having worked in finance and auditing, policy and strategy, business transformation and change and IT & Digital Services. For the last 15 years, he has been instrumental in developing the City’s digital and smart cities agendas, bringing together city partner collaborations between public, private, academic and voluntary and community sector organisations at European, regional and local levels in order to deliver transformational digital programmes covering infrastructure, innovation, data and inclusion. He is responsible for bringing together the City’s strategic approach and the development of a roadmap focussed on delivering digital, smart city and innovation opportunities. 

Raj works closely with the West Midlands Combined Authority on its digital agenda and is supporting the development and rollout of 5G infrastructure and applications across the City of Birmingham.
