Kopiga Kugananthavel is a DWP Digital data engineer focusing on creating a high-quality data landscape for event-base data. After completing a degree in Computer Science and AI her career has encompassed robotics (from work on humanoid robots to medical devices) to tutoring and managing a coding start up. Navigating a tech career with multiple career pivots alongside volunteer work with charities and the NHS. Kopiga entered the civil service during the pandemic, to continue to advocate for positive change. All whilst experiencing imposter syndrome. Passionate about helping people be their best selves, she continues to challenge herself and others. Kopiga has mentored a variety of students and colleagues, currently a mentor for the Government Aspiration Programme, a DWP interview panellist, part of DWP’s Women in Digital Steering Group, and a DWP Summer school graduate where she and her team investigated the talent pipeline within the civil service to identify problems and offer practical solutions to senior sponsors.
