With a background in Surface Design Jessica’s passion for people and complexity led her to complete a double masters programme “Global Innovation Design” from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art in 2020, taught across London, Beijing and Singapore. With a particular interest in co-design and participatory design methods, her work made use of a wide variety of user-centred methodologies to tackle complex challenges. This involved developing solutions ranging from participatory place-making toolkits, to speculative tools that explore public behaviour change towards sustainability. Since joining the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) Jessica continues to be a passionate advocate for user needs and user-centred practices as a mechanism for positive change. Now working as a Digital Delivery Lead with teams within DLUHC to explore user-centred methods within a policy context, she is also an active member of the cross-government Policy Design working group.
