Cristina Gonzalez Varo is a DevOps Engineer Apprentice who joined DWP Digital a year ago. It is at DWP that she found an opportunity to retrain into tech - something that she had been thinking about for the last 15 years. Originally from Barcelona, Spain, she is now part of a DevOps team within Universal Credit in London, where she works on maintaining the app infrastructure to ensure the smooth delivery of the service. Cristina joined the award winning Digital Voices programme in her first year at DWP Digital as she wanted to create connections and learn how to become more confident in her new role. Passionate about creating a more welcoming environment for women in the tech sector, she is also determined on ensuring that women feel comfortable enough in the tech space to stay and progress their careers.
